Senior Cloud Automation Engineer - Remote

Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Cloud Automation Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will focus on building and enhancing cloud infrastructure and automation frameworks to support a high-availability, scalable SaaS platform. You?ll play a key role in driving DevOps best practices, improving platform performance, and enabling cloud-native transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer and automate infrastructure for scalability, security, and performance across cloud environments.
- Design and maintain tools that enhance system observability, including monitoring, alerting, and logging.
- Support the migration of a monolithic application to a modular, cloud-native architecture.
- Apply DevOps principles to accelerate delivery cycles and improve deployment reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to solve business challenges using cloud-native solutions.
- Continuously improve infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years? experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Automation Engineer, or Systems Administrator with a focus on automation.
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS (Azure/GCP also considered).
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Packer.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Strong scripting skills in Python or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and security (e.g., VPC, IAM, Load Balancers, ASGs).
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or similar.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Solid Windows Server and SQL Server administration skills.
- Bachelor?s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- A self-starter with a continuous learning mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering infrastructure solutions in regulated or compliance-focused industries.
- Previous background in software development or quality assurance.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and mentor across teams.
