The Data Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining secure, reliable data pipelines that support both product functionality and internal analytics. This is a hands-on role within a small engineering team, offering broad exposure across data, security, and software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and integrations
- Develop and optimise data models and storage solutions
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance
- Apply secure data handling and access control practices
- Collaborate with software engineers and product teams
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing data workflows
- Support compliance with data protection and security requirements (e.g. GDPR)
- Maintain clear documentation of data processes and architecture
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience in a Data Engineer or similar role
- Strong SQL and database design skills
- Experience using Python or similar languages for data processing
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Understanding of data security and privacy principles
- Experience working with version control systems (Git)
- Comfortable working in a small, agile team
Desirable / Nice to Have
- Background in data security, privacy, or compliance-focused environments
- Experience with streaming or real-time data systems (e.g. Kafka)
- Familiarity with data warehouses and analytics platforms
- Knowledge of DevOps or infrastructure automation tools
